ISTHMUS PANAMA
A path in between two oceans. From the Pacific to the Caribbean and crossing the isthmus with its rivers. Indigenous tribes, jungle and beaches, wild animals and underwater creatures… Everything is available for you! In order to get familiar with the tropical areas, we will begin in Panama city. We will navigate through the Panamá Canal (watch out for the crocodiles), visit its locks. Early next morning we will drive towards Guna Yala in the San Blas Archipelago. We drive through a typical “roller coaster” curvy road with a 4×4 vehicle until we reach the Cartí port. From there, a boat will take us to one of the 300 pristine islands that cover San Blas. We get the chance to swim and snorkel in the crystal turquoise waters and get to know the friendly Gunas. From there, we head towards the Pacific coast, where we find ourselves surrounded by its long beaches, incredible marine wildlife: sharks, whales, turtles, stingrays and colorful fish. We continue towards Azuero Pen-insula, Playa Venao, the number one spot to be at if you’re a surfer! Isla Cañas, a turtle wildlife refuge center, where we will be able to see turtle hatching and nesting. In Santa Catalina we will take a boat and visit the National Park of Coiba. How many marine species will you be able to name? Snorkelling here is just unbelievable. Now we will have one of the best experiences and highlights of the trip: spend the day with the Embera’s indigenous community. From there we will carry on visiting the Portobelo Pirates, the Camino Real and the Golden Path. Let’s go back in time and taste and old but wellpreserved glass of rum. Finally, we will fly to Las Perlas, another archipelago of islands in the Pacific coast. Best relaxation spot to be at before heading back home.
